Biography NICOLAS McCLINTOCK is a producer and director of Seventeen teen years experience. He was the Creator, Compilation Director and Producer of the feature films TEN MINUTES OLDER, enticing fifteen of the worlds greatest directors to work with him on two feature films on the subject of time. Working with: Bernardo Bertolucci, Wim Wenders, Jim Jarmusch, Victor Erice, Chen Kaige, Werner Herzog, Spike Lee, Aki Kaurismaki, Mike Figgis, Jiri Menzel, Claire Denis, Istvan Szabo, Volker Schondorff, Michael Radford and Jean-Luc Godard. Nicolas also shot and edited the links for the features and collaborated with Hugh Masekela, Claudio Bohorquez and with these films continued his 14-year relationship with the composer Paul Englishby putting the sound track together. The films were premiered in the Official Festivals of Cannes, Venice and San Sebastian. Prior to this Nicolas directed, developed, produced and co-produced films with his company Odyssey for, among others, the BBC, Mentorn Barraclough Carey Productions, Carlton Television, Middlemarch Films, Central Television, Discovery USA /The Learning Channel. He collaborated for six years with the acclaimed Social Documentary film maker Michael Grigsby as assistant director, on films including HIDDEN VOICES,BBC FINE CUT 1997,and PICTURES ON THE PIANO, BBC2, which was nominated for a Grierson award in 1995. Nicolas produced an innovative film for the Arts Council /BBC on football chanting, THE SCORE in 1998, for which he received a diploma from Encontros Internacionais De Cinema. He is an occasional lecturer at the National Film and Television School Beaconsfield UK. Theatre Background: Nicolas started his working life in the theatre in 1982. He co-wrote and acted in two Edinburgh Festival plays, these were subsequently invited by the French Education Authorities to tour schools in France. In 1983 he worked at the TRAVERSE THEATRE Edinburgh for one year, before moving to EDEN COURT THEATRE Inverness as assistant manager in 1984, organising and promoting theatre tours of original work throughout the Highlands and Islands. Nicolas was a Churchill Travelling Fellow in 1989 for his work on Minority Cultures. He was made a voting member of the European Film Academy (EFA) in 2002. Nicolas is currently writing the script and developing the music for his latest feature, an exciting film set to world music in contemporary London. Nicolas has also recently be working with André Singer out of West Park Pictures on features, dramas, arts and music film projects.
