Biography Renegade Films. Award-winning producer/writer ROBERT BUCKLER began his career as a BBC script editor on Play for Today and Thirty Minute Theatre strands working on material by writers such as Alan Ayckbourn, Caryl Churchill and Adrian Mitchell. After leaving the BBC, he produced the award-winning feature film Pressure and became Head of Plays at Thames Television. In 1980 he set up Renegade films with Roland Joffe. Between 1989 and 1993 he was also head of producing at The National Film and Television School. His recent credits for Renegade films include writer and producer on the feature film Brothers in Trouble; as Executive Producer on Hotel Splendide (Film Four/ Studio Canal) starring Toni Collette and Daniel Craig, and Room To Rent (The Film Consortium/ Studio Canal) starring Juliette Lewis and Said Taghmaoui. Currently, as Executive Producer and Writer, Rob is going into pre production on The Thought Gang starring Geoffrey Rush. Rob Buckler has also taught all over Europe (workshops for MEDEA) and for film schools in Oslo, Budapest, Prague and Munich.
