Biography Pseudonyms: Dan SAVIO and Leo NICHOLS. In some sources he is also erroneously said to use the pseudonym Nicola Piovani He and Piovani are two different composers. From the age of 16 he began to study music at the Saint Cecilia Conservatory, where he ws a student of Gioffredo Petrassi. Critics Circle Award in 1987 (music).
