Notes see also Metro-Drew Comedies Founded in 1915 by Richard Rowland with help from Louid B. Mayer, Joseph Engel and J. Robert Rubin. They had offices and sudios in New York but in 1918 mved part of their operation to California setting up a studio at Lillian Way and Eleanor St. in Hollywood. In 1917 they had opened a larger studio, named Metro Super-Feature in New York. In 1918 Mayer left the company and Rowland and Rubin sold out to Marcus Loew in early 1919. Metro was then incorporated into Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM).
