Notes Set up by Dr. R.T. Jupp managing director of Provincial Cinematograph Theatres. Studios were set up at St. Margaret's, Twickenham, in a skating rink. The first film made was The HOUSE OF TEMPERLEY (1913). The company relied heavily on American production personnel and actors. The company was a great success and built up its reputation on the adaptation of literary works. However by 1915 the company was suffering financial difficulties. Production continued through 1916. The American producer George Tucker, the force behind the company, returned to the USA in 1917 and was taken on by Goldwyn in 1918. Production stagnated and the studio rented out its staff and equipment to the Ideal Film Company and Interntional Exclusives.
