Hallucinatory study of inmates of an asylum, centered on an old seaman who unsuccessfully tries to force his incarcerated wife to escape. A fiction film about the janitor of an asylum attempting to release his wife who has been an inmate there, since trying to kill herself and her baby. Made in 1926, and rediscovered in 1971. No dialogue or subtitles.
