Library Synopsis
A boy grows up in New York during the 1960s and becomes involved in the local mob after witnessing a mob murder. Gradually he rejects his bus driver father and sees the mob leader as a father figure. Trouble arises when, against a background of escalating racial tension, he dates a black girl.

Adaptation of the stage play by Chazz Palminteri. Tells the story of a boy growing up in the Italian community in the Bronx, New York, in the 1960s. When he becomes involved with the local mobsters, his father struggles to keep him from the powerful influence of the mob leader. When he makes a date with a black girl, he gets caught up in gang warfare between his friends and a group of young blacks which includes her brother.
