First in a week long series of "Late Show" programmes about Germany.This programme goes to East Berlin to explore the ongoing battle against cultural extinction now that East Germany no longer exists. Examines what happens to the character, art and culture of a country when the country itself disappears and its past is rejected.Looks at how the key East German cultural institution Heiner Muller's Berliner Ensemble has adapted to its new role.
