XCU A fly on its back (stuck to a match head or similar) `balances' a number of objects - a blade of grass (24), a pebble (piece of grit) (31), a piece of wood (44), a flat, square piece of wood (56), a shell (78), a `barbell', a cork (108); another (dead) fly (124); a `ball' (a roughly rounded ball of unidentified material) (143). The fly, still on its back, balances the ball, turning it around, while another fly, on top of the ball, runs round as the ball passes through its legs (164). The fly, now sitting in a `chair', plays with the `ball' seemingly bouncing it off the floor and catching it (178ft).
