Drama series set in County Wicklow about a English priest. There is a village slave auction for charity and Father Clifford ends up working behind the bar for Assumpta. Brian Quigley who is bid for by his employees ends up having to unblock the sewers. Niamh bids for an ex-rock singer for Assumpta, and he ends up singing in the bar. Assumpta is bid for by Father Mac and he wants her to let three clerics stay in her hotel much to her distress. Padriag persuades Father Clifford to direct his play, "Ryans Mother"- however Brendan also claims he wrote the play which causes problems. They get Assumpta to play teh lead, though she objects to the kissing scenes and the rock singer Enda, to play the hero. He twists his ankle so Father Clifford takes over. Brian Quigley is unhappy with this as he sponsored the play, as is Father Mac who objects to Clifford and assumpta being so close. Enda recovers in time and takes the lead again and the play is a success.
