Final part of the drama series set in Ireland. Two men turn up in the village and very soon everyone is under the impression that they are from the Inland Revenue.Ambrose who knows the truth refuses to say. All the villagers seem to have something to hide and they are soon asking Father Peter for help. Assumpta has some duty free alcohol in the pub, Eamonn is using farm diesel in his car and even Father McAnally and Kathleen are worried. Assumpta tells Niamh that she is thinking of leaving and setting up in a wine bar in Dublin. Father Peter learns of this but is upset she didn't tell him herself. Brian Quigley is burgled, money has been taken, but he is more worried about his false accounts books which were also taken. He is blackmailed by Mossy Phelan into paying £1,000 for their return, they are placed in the church where Father Peter finds them. Niamh finds out she is pregnant. It turns out that the men are really from the Fraud squad and that they are investigating Sean Dooley. Once everyone knows this they enjoy the party thrown by Brian Quigley for Niamh.
