Drama. John Riley is a sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving in the period of the 1840's when hostilities erupted between the United States and Mexico. When his loyalties and Irish background are tested, Riley finds himself on the way to Mexico with a band of Irish soldiers, soon to be captured by rebel leader Cortina. The motley band of soldiers form St. Patrick's Battalion, with the intention of fighting with Mexico, just in time to face the Americans advancing from the North, ready to attack.
