Detective drama. A young woman is shot through the window of her kitchen in an Oxfordshire village. 24 hours later, her journalist neighbour is shot dead by the same gun. Investigations show links with the academic world of Oxford and the election for Master of Lonsdale College. This is the episode in which Morse's first name is finally revealed.
