Comedy drama set in a small village in Ireland. Niamh is close to having her baby and her husband Ambrose is getting more and more tense and nervous, fainting at ante-natal classes which he attends with her. Her mother Imelda arrives to help out, but that just increases tensions. Liam and Donal invest in an old chip van and set up opposite the church. Father Peter disapproves, but has more to contend with when one of the statues in the church miraculously seems to start sweating. This causes crowds to flock in. Father Peter is disturbed by this, but Father MacAnally sees it as way of increasing devotion and contributions. Meanwhile, Brian is involved in yet another dubious deal, negotiating a lucrative land deal with Con which is being hindered by Eamonn who owns the piece of land that is the key to their designs.
