Library Synopsis
Fantasy. Based on the comic book series created by Stan Lee, X-MEN features a group of people who have special powers, making them `mutants'. Since public opinion, encouraged by politicians, advocates the unmasking of such people and the stripping of their rights, many have gone into hiding. One of them, a teenage runaway called Marie, meets Wolverine, another mutant, and the two are involved in a road accident. Pursued by `bad' mutants, they are saved by 'good' ones, and find themselves in the lair of Xavier, a `good' mutant who intends to develop each mutant's skills to ensure a peaceful integration with the rest of society. However, Xavier's goal is hampered by his rival, Magneto, who is readying himself and his cohorts for what he sees as a war between mutants and normal human beings.
