Library Synopsis

Drama. When a Japanese sailor, Matsuo, escapes from a Japanese submarine situated off the coast of California following the World War II attack on Pearl Harbour, he hides away in a disused factory which is used as a playground by four young boys. Just as the family of one of the boys befriends a Japanese-American neighbour who is being forced into a relocation camp, so one of the boys, Duke, becomes friendly with Matsuo.
