Library Synopsis

The true story of three Aboriginal girls, sisters Molly and Daisy and their cousin Gracie, who had white fathers - long departed - and are being brought up by their mothers and grandmother in the remote community of Jigalong. When A.O. Neville, a Western Australian bureaucrat in charge of the Aborigines, demands that the girls be taken from their families and transported to a special facility for half-caste children, the girls decide to escape. So begins their 1,200 mile journey across Australia.
