Comedy. Trick. An inventor claims to have a camera which looks into the future and shows what several well-known London landmarks will look like in the future. The inventor turns out to be an escaped lunatic. Amongst the crowds leaving a race track (15-25) is a despondent loser. On a park bench he finds a man who claims to be holding his latest invention - a camera which looks into the future. A contemporary scene is shown of Trafalgar Square with buses passing through (199-214); a depiction follows of the future showing a superimposed sea shore with waves lapping the base of the Nelson Monument (243-273). The Strand (277-293) expands to inlcude Oxford Street (307-330), whilst the Houses of Parliament (336-348) acts as a mooring mast for an airship which takes off (363-377) and Tower Bridge (383-394) is later seen with trains passing over it and beneath it (408-427). A man laying bricks (444-479) is seen laying them in the future with a wave of the ahnd (reverse camera work) (493-508). The racehorse loser immediately demands to be told the winners of future meetings but is forestalled when some men arrive on the scene and claim the inventor as an escaped lunatic (752ft).
