Library Synopsis

Orphaned twelve-year old Perdita lives on the small island of Skua, off the Scottish coast. She is isolated and shunned by the other islanders who believe her mother was a witch. Her mother Zelda committed drowned herself in the sea, and the islanders blame the disappearance of the lobsters on which their livelihoods are based on a curse by Zelda.
